DTF Printing on Canvas Tote Bags

Canvas is thick and absorbent. DTF gives full-color prints without the setup cost of screen printing on small bag runs.

Substrates: Cotton canvas 8–16 oz

Settings that work

Temperature	150–160 °C
Press time	15–20 seconds
Pressure	Heavy, 5–6 bar
Peel	Cold peel
Wash care	Spot clean, hand wash

Settings are a starting point, not gospel. Film batches, ink lots and press calibration all shift the ideal number — always pull-test a sample before a paid run.

What goes wrong, and how to fix it

Problem	Fix
Print sinks into the weave	Canvas texture shows through. Use a heavier white layer and press 5 seconds longer.
Bag seam prevents flat press	Slide a pressing pillow inside the bag so both layers sit level.
Handle stitching melts	Keep the transfer 1 inch away from handles and seams.
